Who couldn’t use more hope, joy, peace, and love?
This dynamic trio has an authentic, soulful, and orchestral sound, and an array of repertoire spanning from the Baroque era to the Jazz Age to today’s Billboard Hot 100.
The String Queens seek to sonically address the problems that are currently plaguing the world by creating unique arrangements of timeless classics (Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and more) that take listeners on a rousing musical journey rooted in hope, joy, peace, and love.
About the Artists
The String Queens (TSQ), based in Washington, D.C., is a dynamic trio celebrated for their authentic and orchestral sound. They have performed at prestigious venues across the U.S., including Carnegie Hall and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Notable appearances include a tribute to Vice President Kamala Harris at the “We Are One” Inauguration Concert in January 2021 and an arrangement of Harry Styles’s “Golden” at Wimbledon in June 2021. TSQ is also prominent in the D.C. jazz scene, frequently headlining events like the DC Jazz Festival and Capital Jazz Fest.
In August 2022, TSQ released their third album, RISE, funded by a Sphinx Organization MPower Artist Grant. This album features arrangements of classics by artists like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and The Beatles, guiding listeners from themes of loss to triumph and faith. Previous albums include a self-titled EP from 2019 and a holiday EP, Our Favorite Things, from 2020.
